Hello everyone and welcome to my latest video upload. This vlog-like video is a quick recap of my recent trip to Germany. The first part of my trip was visiting Leica HQ in Wetzlar, Germany. The Fujifilm X-T30ii is not much of an upgrade from the X-T30 from a hardware perspective. An upgraded rear LCD screen and a larger memory buffer. You also get less in the box with no wall charger. However, what you are paying for is the latest and greatest firmware that works perfectly with the X-Processor IV that has been in every major X Series and GFX Series camera for the past few years. Is it worth the upgrade? For some the answer is yes, but for many it's a no with frustrations. Check out my latest video as I go over the differences.

If you could choose between the Leica Q2 or Q2 Monochrom as your daily camera, which would you pick? I had both cameras for a month and carried both of them everywhere I went. Which camera did I shoot with the most? The Q2 Monochrom. It wasn't just because the camera was more novel, even though it is. I just enjoyed the images I was getting out of the black and white only sensor. Watch my latest video as I explain why I like shooting with both of these beautiful cameras.
Rangefinders vs SLRs vs Mirrorless. Which is better for street, sports, or as an every day camera? It depends if you're shooting film or digital. In the film world, it really comes down to what you're shooting. In the digital realm, mirrorless is king, although there are some instances when you'll want to shoot with a DSLR. This is a weird one. Talking head video test with the new Fujifilm GFX100S + GF50mm f/3.5. Why would anyone do this? Well, if you already own this camera, you know that you can still use it for talking head video, as well as video conference calls. This can shoot up to 4K 30FPS at 400Mbps in H265 4:2:0 10-bit internal, which is pretty darn good for medium format. The biggest weakness using medium format for video? Rolling shutter and memory card space. Check out my test in my latest Youtube video.
Check out my latest video on the new Fujifilm GFX100S. Is it worth $6000 USD? Well, yes it is, especially since the 4 year old GFX 50S is still currently selling for $5500 USD. For $500 more, you get twice the megapixels, IBIS, the latest X-Processor IV, new battery system, and a new design. However, you are missing the removable EVF, optional battery grip, no external battery charger, no D-Pad and a few other differences. Do you need a modular medium format camera? Then maybe consider the GFX 50S, or perhaps its replacement. Check out the video for more information.

My latest article for Fujilove Magazine explores the evolution of Fujifilm's design language from the previous GFX 50S to the latest and greatest GFX100S. Although the overall feel is similar, the shooting style is very different. Fujifilm has slowly been moving away from traditional dials and the D-pad, and moving towards virtual dials and on-screen navigation. What do you think? Perhaps I'm in the minority, but 28mm is my favourite prime focal length for everyday photography. I know many might consider this a boring focal length, and I can understand why. Many prefer more extremes, like a 24mm or 50mm. However, remember that 50 years ago 35mm was considered a wide angle lens. 28mm was considered wide as well. With advances in optics, 24mm is relatively easy to design and build. I think focal lengths preferences can come and go like fashion. Currently, 28mm isn't 'in fashion'. In this video I pick my 3 favourite kits for street and everyday photography, and surprise, surprise, they're all 28mm!! Thanks for watching and happy shooting!!

Hello everyone, I'm a bit late posting my latest video review of the new Fujifilm XF18mm f/1.4 R LM WR lens. It's a lens I've been waiting for since the very start. As many of you know, I'm a 28mm shooter, since my original Ricoh GR1 from 1998. Although Fujifilm recommends this lens with the X-Pro3, I feel it actually works better with either the X-Pro2 with the 18mm frame lines in OVF mode, or the latest X-T4 for IBIS. Another review on Fujilove Magazine, this time the Fujinon GF50mm f/3.5 R LM WR for the GFX digital medium format system from Fujifilm. This 40mm equivalent 'pancake' design lens neither looks like a pancake lens, nor does it shoot like one. The bokeh rendering is nice, the autofocus is quick and quiet (for medium format) and the build quality is top notch. Compared to the GF63mm f/2.8 R WR, I prefer the overall lens design and performance. Read my full review on Fujilove Magazine:

I've been using this laptop daily for over 3 months, and I've really enjoyed the convenience of having dual screens on a laptop. Instead of stacking my windows and alt-tab'ing to flip between programs, I can dedicate the second screen to secondary applications, such as OBS, Youtube Live, or messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, or Signal. I decided to start posting some older videos from past trips and make it into a FlashBack video series. This is a saved video from an Instagram Live session from BHTHk2019ii. Please enjoy.
I haven't shot with a 70-300mm lens since the old film days. It was a must-have lens in any kit, but I rarely used it. I had my 300mm f/2.8 for sports and 80-200mm f/2.8 for weddings and events, so I had no need for a lens in this range. 25 years later, I finally get to try a 70-300mm again, but on APS-C format. The 1.5x crop on APS-C gives me a 107-457mm equivalent in full-frame, essentially giving me a super-telephoto lens. Check out my latest video as I test the new Fujifilm XF70-300mm f/4-5.6 R LM OIS WR at Iona Beach Park, Chinatown, at night and at Second Narrows Bridge photographing boats and trains.

I love my Macbook Pro 13" 2015. I love all the ports, I love the keyboard, the retina display, the design. I even had 16gb of ram and a 512gb SSD to make sure it lasted. However, it was time to replace it. I hated the butterfly keyboard so I knew I had to wait until they would replace it, which they started doing in 2019. However, I was also considering going with an iMac and use the new iPad Pro 12.9" as a laptop replacement. Which way did I go? Please check out my latest video.
